Solitary metastasis to the skull as the first sign of hepatocellular carcinoma in a patient in long-term remission

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a common malignant tumor with 5-year survival rate of 10%, presenting extrahepatic metastases in 15–17% patients. HCC-bone represent approximately one-quarter all HCC metastases, most frequently the spine, pelvis, ribs, or femur. HCC-skull however, make up 0.4–1.6% HCC- bone metastases. Furthermore, solitary metastasis without known active primary an unusual presentation warranting further review and consideration. Case Description: Here, authors report unique case patient cancer but long-term remission for HCC. The 69-year-old male past who presented nontender skull mass. A computed tomography scan showed heterogeneously enhancing mass centered high left parietal intracranial extension. There was noted effect on posterior frontoparietal region worrisome midline shift. Pathology ultimately revealed to be metastatic To aid understanding clinical management this rare presentation, we reviewed literature regarding radiological features, pathology, outcome. Conclusion: Ultimately, early detection source pivotal successful treatment prognosis, lesions such as these must include differential diagnosis.
